The Omni Console with Built-in Speaker/Microphone is a surface mount
console with a slim design that can be flush
mounted with an optional flush mount backbox (shown below).
This version of the Omni Console has a built-in speaker/microphone.
It features a 48 character cool blue backlight LCD
display with menu operation, backlit keys, selectable keyclick, beeper
functions and viewing angle. A two-color LED offers status at a glance: red for
security armed, green when disarmed.
All control, security and programming
functions can be accomplished using a console. It has Silk Screen with
the menu options printed on the console face.
Benefits
With the Omni Console with Built-in Speaker/Microphone you may broadcast automatic
message announcements through the Console, such as Dad is home,
Tonight is recycle night, or the automatic annunciation of an alarm and zone by voice,
based upon system programmed events in your home control system.
You can listen from on-premises or phone into your
Omni family home control system to listen to your home through the console microphone or
communicate through your console's speakers. This is particularly beneficial if your
home control system has notified you that a certain event, such as the pushing of a panic
button on the system, has occurred.
This console allows two-way communication with a central station after an alarm.
You can even leave a message for someone via the
phone interface that is immediately and automatically announced when someone disarms
its security system (OmniPro II only).
Requirements
Every Omni family
home control system is required to use one of these Omni Console with
Built-in Speaker/Microphone or an
Omni Console (HAI Part Number 33A00-1) to meet UL requirements.
For the speaker and microphone to work you must install a Two-Way Voice Module (HAI Part Number 10A11-1) in your home control system.
Do not mount speakers, microphones, 28A00 modules, or 33A00-4 consoles near any device that may produce noise (fans,
air conditioning units, audio speakers, etc.).
Microphones should be connected with 24 AWG or larger, shielded twisted pair wire. Wire length should not exceed 100 feet.
Connect the cable shields and negative wires together at the Model 10A11-1, Rev B terminal block only.
Do not connect the shield on the microphone end. Additional microphones can be connected to each input in parallel.
Speakers should be connected with 18 AWG or larger, twisted pair wire. For wire runs that exceed 50 feet, use 16 AWG wire or
larger. Wire length should not exceed 100 feet.
The Omni Console with Speaker/Microphone is compatible with HAI's Omni LTe, Omni IIe, and OmniPro II Home Control Systems
