Do you want sophisticated and affordable lighting control in your home?
Lighting control can enhance the enjoyment and value of your home,
add security for peace of mind, and contribute to savings on your
energy bill.
With HAI Lighting Control (HLC) anyone
can experience all of the benefits of a sophisticated lighting
control system that is affordable and retrofitable.
There is no need to run new wires as long as you have standard
residential wiring (120/240V electrical system with a neutral
wire at each switch location). For retrofits or expansion,
simply replace the existing light switch with an HAI "smart" switch.
Affordable Modular Lighting Control
With HLC products you can set elegant lighting scenes for each room,
adding as your needs change. The
HLC Product Line includes the following:
-
Dimmers and Switches: Replace traditional light switches with
ones that have attractive, back-lit buttons putting lighting
control at your finger tips. These switches work over existing
house wiring for easy installation in renovations, retrofits, and upgrades.
-
Lamp Module: Control any lamp up to 300 watts, including setting scenes
with it. Just plug a lamp into the lamp module and the lamp module into
an electrical outlet.
-
Appliance Module: Control loads up to 15 Amps, general purpose, 1/2 horsepower,
including setting scenes with it. Just plug an appliance into the appliance module and
the appliance module into an electrical outlet.
-
Scene Switch: Set a lighting scene with the push of one button! Control all lights in a room or area.
Lights may be turned on, off, dimmed, brightened, and set to
four different scenes to provide limitless options for both
security and aesthetic lighting in your home. The buttons on this
switch may be custom engraved so that you may "name" the scene that each button controls.
Scene Switches have an integrated infrared sensor and its buttons may be activated by a remote
control.
Scene Switches can be placed into a table top cradle that plugs directly into
any electrical outlet. This table top cradle allows for convenient control of
your scenes from a bedside nightstand, on desk in a home office, or next to your
favorite chair.
There is a remote control available to activate scenes through the infrared
receiver built into Scene Switches.
-
House Status Switch: When used with an
HAI Home Control System
this master lighting control shows
the status for up to eight rooms. If any light is on in
a room, that button is illuminated. Pressing a button on the
House Status Switch will turn all of the lights in that room on or off.
The buttons on this
switch may be custom engraved so that you may "name" the room that each button controls.
-
Load Control Module: The HLC Load Control Module controls the power consumption of
high wattage loads such as pool pumps and hot water heater using UPB™.

About HLC
All HLC products are UL Listed and use
Generation II Universal Powerline Bus (UPB™)
– a digital communications standard for lighting and home control that
ensures superior reliability.
UPB™ has been extensively tested
and researched in residential environments and found to be 99.9 percent reliable.
UPB™ works over existing wires in a home and does not require new wiring.
HLC’s two way performance has been optimized for single family homes on 120/240 volt electrical systems.
HAI does not recommend HLC for three phase 120/208 systems unless all switches and home control systems
are on a single 120 v phase. Although there are three phase repeaters available for UPB™
(the technology used in HLC) HAI does not currently recommend their use.

USING HLC WITH A HOME CONTROL SYSTEM
HLC Products work as stand-alone or with a
Home Control System.
An HAI home control system has the ability to change your light settings by the
time of day, a set schedule, by the triggering of events (including motion), via a telephone call,
Touchscreen, Smartphone, or by a computer connected to the Internet.
Save Money & Energy
Studies show that dimming a light by just 10% can save 10% of electricity and double the life
of the bulb. HAI home control systems can automatically set lights to turn on at 90%, saving
money and energy any time a light
is turned on.
Your HAI system can automatically turn off all of the lights in the house when you leave
in order to lower your electric bill.

ADVANCED LIGHTING CONTROL (ALC) HARDWIRE LIGHTING CONTROL
|
|
HAI offers
Advanced Lighting Control (ALC) Hardwired Lighting Control
switches as a special order item.
Advanced Lighting Control (ALC) is
intended for installation in homes, which have been pre-wired for installation
of ALC system products. Omni family and Lumina family home control systems
control lights and appliances by sending
commands over the ALC signal wiring to ALC Switch Modules. ALC Switch
Modules communicate with the HAI home control system over low
voltage signal wire. They are two-way
devices, so the controller always knows the actual status of the switch.
Additionally, any ALC switch may be used to set scenes by triggering macros in
the HAI home control system.
An ALC branch cable (twisted-pair
20 to 24 gauge) must be present at each location. Additionally, an uninterrupted
source of 120 VAC must be present at each Relay, Dimmer, Program, and 4 Button
Scene switch
location and a 3 conductor (20 to 24 gauge) cable for each ALC Auxiliary Switch
for dedicated multi-way switching applications.
