This update patch adds the following features:
1.
Windows Vista support:
This version can
be installed on Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate, as well as all earlier
versions of Windows Media Center.
2.
Support for Audio Systems (Russound
CAM and CAV, NuVo
Concerto/Essentia/Simplese, HAI Hi-Fi):
HAI Home Control
now supports communications with Russound CAM and CAV, NuVo Concerto, Essentia,
and Simplese, and HAI Hi-Fi Whole Home Audio Distribution Systems. The status
(i.e. power state, current volume, mute status, and selected source) of each
named audio zone is displayed along with various controls for the zone and
source. When connected to source equipment that generates metadata (i.e. Song
Title, Artist, Genre, Album Name, Channel Number, Channel Name, etc.), the
status along with the source metadata is displayed on the Audio Zones Overview
page and on the selected Audio Zone page, and the current metadata for each
source is displayed on the Audio Source page.
The Audio Zones
Overview page displays a list of all named audio zones, along with the power
state (On/Off), current volume level (1-100%), mute status, selected audio
source, and source metadata (if applicable) for each audio zone. The Audio
Zones Overview page also allows turning All Audio Zones On, turning All Audio
Zones Off, Muting All Audio Zones, and Un-Muting All Audio Zones. Selecting an
audio zone from the list will bring up the Audio Zone page for the selected
audio zone.
The Audio Zone
interface that is displayed will differ depending on the type of audio system
that is configured. The Audio Zone page will display the power state of the
zone, current volume (displayed in a percentage and bar graph), mute status,
current audio source, and source metadata (if applicable). Besides any
available transport control buttons for the configured audio system, every audio
zone will have the following zone control buttons to control the audio zone:
Volume Up button, Volume Down button, Mute button, Power button, and Audio
Source button. Selecting the Audio Source button will bring up the Audio Source
page.
The Audio Source
page displays all of the available audio sources along with the current metadata
(if applicable) for each source. Selecting an audio source from the list will
bring up the Audio Zone page with the newly selected audio source in the
respective audio zone.
3.
Added Interface Preferences Utility:
The Interface
Preferences tool can be used to customize what the HAI Home Control interface
displays. Naming within the HAI system limits the user to 15 character names.
Using the interface preferences tool, HAI Home Control can display up to 64
characters. In addition, the Interface Preferences tool can be used to prevent
selected items from being displayed within HAI Home Control.
To change the
display of a name by using the Interface Preferences tool, first select the type
of name that will be changed. Along the top of the tool there are 6 options.
The choices are control, security, thermostats, temperature, messages, or
buttons. To change the display name, simply type the new name into the box on
the right side of the old name. Once the new name has been entered, the
Interface Preferences tool automatically updates the information in HAI Home
Control.
If there are
certain named devices that you would like not to be display in Home Control,
simply uncheck the check box to the right of that named device and the device’s
name will no longer be displayed in HAI Home Control.
This update is FREE for all registered Home Control for Window Media Center customers.
If you have registered your software, you will be receiving an e-mail providing
you with instructions for obtaining this update. Otherwise, you may contact
