HAI, the leading
manufacturer of integrated security and automation systems since 1985, has
announced its OmniTouch product is a CES
Innovations 2003 Design and Engineering Showcase honoree in the Integrated Home
Systems category.
The OmniTouch is a colorful
"plug and play" touchscreen interface for the award winning Omni Family of
integrated security and home automation controllers. Its responsive icons
facilitate control of lights and small appliances, monitoring and adjustments of
security and temperatures, including outdoor temperature and humidity, pool and
spa temperatures, ventilation, decorative lighting and other items under control
of the Omni-family system.
"With its elegant appearance,
simplicity in regards to programming and use, and the suggested retail price of
$799, the OmniTouch is in a class all its own," commented HAI President Jay
McLellan. "Its affordability makes touchscreen control available to a much
larger segment of the population."
OmniTouch is
self-configuring based on the programming of the Omni-family controller. There
is no programming, which can be complex and expensive in competitive systems.
Changes made on the Omni-family system automatically show on the touchscreen,
allowing the customer or installer to maintain and reprogram the Omni-family
system remotely.
The OmniTouch is scheduled
for release in late March 2003 and will be available for demonstration during
CES, January 9-12, 2003 in the Techome Pavilion, booth 25211, and at the 2003
NextGen Home, which will be open for viewing January 9-31, 2003 in the parking
area of the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.
All HAI products are sold
through its worldwide network of Distribution Partners and installed by over
1000 trained dealers. For more information on HAI's OmniTouch or other
