Cisco Learning Institute's Home Technology
Integrator (HTI) Training Program includes HAI's award-winning integrated
security and home automation products to teach students the applications of
various technologies that comprise a contemporary home network.
The HTI program, introduced in the fall of 2002, is
a 40-60 hour semester course offered at community colleges and private
technology schools throughout the United States. It prepares students to
qualify for CompTIA's HTI+ certification. The computer-based training, live
instruction, and hands-on labs curriculum is designed for high school seniors,
students attending junior college, trade schools, or adult education programs,
electrical contractors and electricians that wish to enter the home automation
market, as well as commercial low voltage wiring contractors and installers that
wish to broaden their scope.
As a leading manufacturer of
integrated automation and security products since 1985, HAI was invited to
participate in the course which covers standards based cabling infrastructure,
computer networking systems, video distribution systems, telephone distribution,
audio systems, security systems and home automation systems.
HAI is one of several industry
partners participating in the program by supplying components to the lab
structure and collaborating on the curriculum. Other partners include:
Leviton, Blue Volt, and Agilent.
"HAI is delighted by CLI's
commitment to the training and education of connected home technology
professionals," comments HAI President, Jay McLellan, "We're equally committed
to supporting programs that enhance the technical skill of installers and
contributes to the growth of our industry."
