HAI Introduces New Temperature and Humidity Sensors

Date: 10/16/02

New Orleans, LA   HAI, the leading manufacturer of integrated security and automation products since 1985, has announced the addition of two new sensors to its award-winning product line, an indoor/outdoor temperature sensor and an indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity sensor.

The temperature only sensor differs from HAI's currently available sensor in two key areas.  The first is the attractive beige case, which is suitable for indoor décor, and the second is the internal circuitry that is coated to resist moisture and features a new, high accuracy sensor that doesn't need calibration.  The sensor hooks up to any unused zone on an HAI Omni family controller and can be used for sensing and controlling temperatures in attics, garages, greenhouses, basements, wine coolers, etc.  It can also report over and under temperature and freeze conditions.

The temperature and humidity sensor includes all of the features of the temperature only sensor plus adds an electronic humidity sensor, reporting 0 to 100 percent relative humidity.  High and low limits can be set for taking action (i.e. turning on the bathroom vent fan, running a/c in de-humidification mode, turning on humidifier in heating mode, etc.) or reporting high or low humidity conditions in homes, greenhouses, wine coolers, humidors, etc.  Controlling humidity is particularly helpful in combating the growth of mold in vulnerable areas of the home, such as bathrooms, basements, attics, etc.

"As most people are now aware, humidity can cause a variety of problems," explains HAI President Jay McLellan.  "HAI has responded by introducing this new sensor in an effort to monitor and control humidity."

Both of the new sensors are currently available for shipping and are compatible with all three of HAI's award-winning Omni family integrated security and home automation controllers.

All HAI products are sold through a worldwide network of Distribution Partners and installed by over 1000 dealers.   For more information on HAI products, please visit www.homeauto.com or call (800) 229 - 7256.
