Requirements:

• Requires a neutral (white) connection wire.
  
  
• If you are using an HAI home control system with your switch you must install a UPB™ PIM & cable (HAI Part Number 36A00-1).
  
  
• If you are using the HAI Upstart Configuration software you must install an UPB™ PIM & cable (HAI Part Number 36A00-1) and a cable to connect your PIM to a computer (HAI Part Number 36A05-2).
  
  

Recommendation:

HAI recommends that every HAI Lighting Control (HLC) installation include a Phase Coupler (HAI Part Number 39A00-1).

Usage

The HAI UPB™ 15A Relay Switch controls non-dimming loads and is ideal for heavier loads or for motors (like ceiling fans) that may hum when used with Dimming or Non-Dimming switches.

HLC Products work as stand-alone or with a Home Control System.

An HAI home control system has the ability to change your light settings by the time of day, a set schedule, by the triggering of events (including motion), via a telephone call, Touchscreen, Smartphone, or by a computer connected to the Internet.

About HLC

All HLC products are UL Listed and use Generation II Universal Powerline Bus (UPB™) – a digital communications standard for lighting and home control that ensures superior reliability. UPB™ has been extensively tested and researched in residential environments and found to be 99.9 percent reliable. UPB™ works over existing wires in a home and does not require new wiring.

Switch Operation

The 15A Relay switch has a Decora-style rocker switch that may be used to control the lighting load as follows:

Switch LED

The 15A Relay switch comes with equipped with a multi-color LED indicator, which may be set to off, blue, red, or magenta. The default settings are as follows:

Switch is off - LED is blue
Switch is on - LED is off

You may change these default colors by using the HAI UPB™ UPStart configuration software (see below).

Colors

This switch comes with a default white paddle, connectors, and instructions.

Switch Color Change Kits (HAI Part Number 35A14-color codeCS) are available in White (WH), Ivory (IV), Almond (AL), Light Almond (LTA), Brown (BR), Grey (GR), and Black (BL) colors. They are sold in case lots of 12 only.

Wallplate

No Wallplate is included when you purchase this switch. With the exception of the 1500W and 2400W models, HLC switches accommodate standard Decora-style wallplates. Mix and match to easily add a personalized touch to any room.

Configuration Software

When used with an HAI Home Control System HLC products automatically configure themselves, and outside software is not required. HAI offers HAI UPB™ UPStart Configuration software for professionals who desire to make advanced changes to our default setup.

HAI UPB™ UPStart configuration software will allow you to change the colors on the switch's LED.
